We go back to the late 1930s, when two of us were students in a Christian college in Boston, MA and the third a salesman in the Boston area. Two things brought us together at that time: membership in a gospel witnessing team which took meetings in the environs of Boston and beyond, and our weekly attendance of a Bible class which met year-round in proximity to Boston Commons.
In 1942 we were separated, geographically, but our relationship continued by visits and phone calls during the years as each of us pursued his own career and reared his own family. Then, in the late 1970s, acting on what we took to be a clear indication from the Lord, we came into closer relationship again and for the next few years met together yearly over a few days for a time of sharing, prayer, and looking to the Lord for His purpose as to His thus bringing us back together.
In the summer of 1980 we were impressed to attend a Bible conference in California, sponsored by Gene Edwards and his group. One spin-off from our fellowship with Gene was his suggestion to undertake the reprinting of a then out-of-print book from which he had greatly benefited in his spiritual growth: God's Plan of Redemption by Mary McDonough, the Bible teacher under whom we three had been so greatly blessed during the college years. The printing of books was a new and unfamiliar venture for us, but after prolonged waiting on the Lord we undertook the project. From the success of this first attempt we took courage to expand our offerings to include the printing of selections from the ministry of T. Austin-Sparks of London, England, Pastor Otto Stockmayer of Switzerland, John Wright Follette of the United States, and others.
